Serge Ibaka Fights Marquese Chriss as Raptors Face Cavs

Toronto's Serge Ibaka and Cleveland's Marquese Chriss were ejected for throwing punches near the end of the third period.

Even if Chriss was viewed as the instigator, Vandeweghe would be forced to look at Ibaka's antecedents and make his ruling based on his prior history of conflict. Down 91-77 and inbounding the ball from their own end, a long pass by Toronto's Norman Powell was sent down the floor in search of Serge Ibaka who was battling for position with Cleveland's Marquese Chriss.

The fight occurred with 0:01 remaining in the third quarter on Monday night.

The Raptors, showing signs of being exhausted in their third straight road game, struggled throughout the game.

Believing that Ibaka will only be lost for one game may be wishful thinking, though.

DeSean Jackson traded to Eagles
Sources told ESPN on Sunday that the Bucs were actively shopping Jackson and that Philadelphia was his desired landing spot. Now, with free agency approaching, it seems like the team is back to moving on from Jackson.

The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be building some momentum going into the offseason. G Matthew Dellavedova (concussion) missed his second straight game. According to the Raptors forward, Chriss said something to him on the ground which prompted Ibaka to get up and shove Chriss from behind. "Listen, it's always going to be concerning when something like that happens".

"You never want to see that, but I think the fact that we kept our focus and kept our foot on the gas was key in tonight's win."
We don't want to lose one of our guys for incidents like that.

The teams don't play again this season. Which isn't to say that Nick Nurse didn't try, from varied lineup combinations to find a spark, to an early stint of zone defense in the first quarter which briefly seemed to get the Raptors' attention and spurred a run to close the gap.
