Xiaomi Shows Off 100W Supercharger; Out-Performs OPPO SuperVOOC Fast Charger

Xiaomi is probably working on integrating Super Charge Turbo into its next Redmi flagship (or perhaps a folding phone), but let's hope they take all the safety precautions to avoid another Note 7-like disaster.

Hence, we can expect that the Super Charge Turbo technology by Xiaomi is powerful enough and can be a life savior. And soon, certain Xiaomi smartphones will support an incredible 100W fast charging technology.

Xiaomi wants the world to know it cannot only sell out of new phones within 20 minutes but it can also fully charge the power-hungry devices in the same amount of time.

For comparison, Apple's USB-PD 29W fast charging can only take a puny iPhone XS 2,658 mAh battery from 0 to 50 percent in 30 minutes. However, smartphone manufacturers are looking to develop solutions that can make it faster. Then, leaving the phone on charge for an extra 10 minutes will bring the charge up to 100%, meaning owners could fully charge their devices in just 17 minutes. Furthermore, Redmi Head Lu Weibing also announced that this technology is already in mass production, and a Redmi phone will adopt it first.

No further details were shared at the moment about Xiaomi's impressive charging technology.

Charging technology has jumped up many levels in the past year. Even modern "fast charging" technology, while useful, isn't likely to blow anyone away. The questions that remain now is when this technology will start appearing on commercial devices, nor how Xiaomi plans to ensure that it charges safely.
