Now, Prime Video will become broadly available across the Android TV partner ecosystem, and Prime Video app users will be able to stream from the Prime Video catalogue on Android TV, including Amazon's original programming and 4K videos, and access their Prime Video Channel subscriptions. With new devices, you can select YouTube Music during the setup process. That means Echo Show owners will have to continue relying on the previous workaround when they want to watch YouTube videos, which involves using the Show's built-in web browser to access the desktop version of YouTube.

If you're a fan of YouTube with an Amazon Fire TV device, or a subscriber to Amazon Prime with a Google Chromecast, you're in luck.

Through all this, Amazon has shown animosity to Google's Chromecast platform. YouTube TV and YouTube Kids apps will also be available. Thankfully, it appears the relationship is thawing. There's no specific date for the new app, but it will arrive "later this year".

Still, this is a step in the right direction.
