Heathcote residents invited to take part in free Easter egg hunt

An Easter egg hunt for a good cause.

This year the organization dedicated their Easter egg hunt in honor of Harper Stanz who was struck and killed by a vehicle at Recreation Park, the same place the hunt will happening.

Easter is a little less than a week away, which means the 4th annual Marquette City-Wide Easter Egg Hunt has officially begun.

"It's set to be a lovely day for all the family and I'm sure the local children will be very happy to get their hands on some chocolatey treats". With pails and baskets in hand, they were ready to collect as numerous 1,000 colored plastic eggs filled with Hershey's Kisses as possible.

The free hunt will feature 10,000 eggs filled with candy. Egg apparatus must not contain any metal, glass or other material that may shatter upon impact. The eggs will be handed out at the start of the event and must be able to be removed or viewed after the drop. There will also be five age-appropriate bunny trails.

Trump blasts Mueller's 'op-ed' on obstruction

Hundreds of eggs, dozens of children and some great prizes.

The clues to the eggs can be found on the Superiorland Kiwanis Facebook page all this week.

Photos with the Easter Bunny are always popular at area Easter egg hunts. The event features 10 hidden (and empty) beer cans as far west as Eagle-Vail and as far south as Minturn - most hidden in Vail Village - for beer-hunting adults to find.

Six-year-old Eloise Hallquist said she too came to the egg hunt, which drew about 100 people, to see her neighbors. Bring your own Easter baskets, and all children are welcome.
