Mick Schumacher makes F1 testing debut with Ferrari

Mick Schumacher made his long-awaited Formula One debut in Bahrain on Tuesday as he began the in-season test for Ferrari.

There was more track time for Pietro Fittipaldi during the morning session at Haas, while rookies Jack Aitken and Nicholas Latifi got their first taste of 2019 machinery for Renault and Williams respectively, both completing over 100 laps after completing a number of aero tests. He finished eighth and sixth in the opening two races in Bahrain last weekend.

His legendary dad made the team great as he won five world championships with them back-to-back from 2000 to 2004. By the close he was swapping fastest laps with Verstappen, who is 21 but in his fifth season in the sport.

And thanks to Pirelli, here are the combined times from the two days of testing at Sakhir.

Mick Schumacher has followed his famous father into the seat of an F1 Ferrari. The SF90 is incredible because of the power it has, but it is also smooth to drive, and that's why I enjoyed myself so much. "It felt like home in the garage from the very first moment with a lot of people that know me since I was very young", said Schumacher.

Two-time champion Alonso is driving a contemporary F1 auto for the first time since last year's Abu Dhabi finale.

"I was feeling like I could even brake at the 50-metre board at Turn 1, but obviously that's not possible".

European Union losing patience as British MPs vote again on Brexit options
Reports said she was readying herself for a fourth time to put her deal to MPs after they rejected it last Friday. But the Conservatives are anxious that could hand power to the opposition Labour party.

"Obviously, with the name and being the son of Michael, there's certainly some links and expectations", four times champion and current Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel said last week. Recall, he joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in January.

He last raced for the team in 2006 before a comeback with Mercedes from 2010-12 and has not been seen in public since he suffered severe head injuries in a skiing accident in the French Alps in December 2013.

Mick Schumacher took to the track in Bahrain with mum Corinne watching on.

After his debut with Ferrari drew huge attention on Tuesday, Mick Schumacher had a slightly quieter day at the wheel of the Alfa Romeo on Wednesday. Alonso was drafted in by McLaren to give feedback on this year's vehicle as well as work with tyre supplier Pirelli on next year's development tyres. He has been clear he wants to help the team develop the auto and has not ruled out a return to F1.

"It's going to be probably good for the sport and the Schumacher family is going to be something special in any F1 vehicle". Although the mileage was solid for an afternoon in the auto, his best lap was unspectacular with the 11th fastest time.

Alonso said: "It's a step forward in every aspect of the auto". "I think the vehicle has more grip, the auto is less draggy on the straights".
