Trump Denies Backing Off Threat to Seal US-Mexico Border

Overwhelmed by an influx of migrants at the U.S. -Mexico border that is taxing the immigration system, President Donald Trump is grasping for something - anything - to stem the tide. The sector is full.

The US president has threatened to impose tariffs on Mexican cars imported to the United States if Mexico does not deter the mass US-bound illegal migration crossing through its territory.

Trump also claimed that "close to 400 miles" of border wall will be completed within the next two years. "We're going to be meeting, I think on Friday, at a piece of the wall that we've completed, a big piece, a lot of it's being built right now", he told reporters on Thursday. It's a awful thing. It would keep vehicles made within North America free from tariffs, as long as most of its parts were made inside the three countries and by workers earning at least $16 an hour.

The move comes roughly four months after news reports revealed that Border Patrol was falling far short of lofty recruitment goals set by President Donald Trump, and that the agency in fact was on track to end 2019 with fewer agents.

"It is a colossal surge and it is overwhelming our immigration system and we can't let that happen". We can't take you anymore.

Specifically, Trump singled out those seeking asylum, saying that a large number of them were gang members. "I may shut it down at some point but I´d rather do tariffs", he said. "I just went through a hoax", which is how he refers to special counsel Robert Mueller's probe of his campaign's ties to the Russian government.

Ever photograph of a black hole is about to be unveiled
While we can understand them because of the way they affect the space that surrounds them, they cannot actually be directly seen. But even with multiple telescopes pointing at Sagittarius A* for the better part of two years, imaging a black hole is not easy.

Trump warned last Friday that he would close the US border with Mexico this week unless Mexico took action to help stop the flow of illegal migrants across the frontier.

"Never before have we seen so many warning signs with respect to a nominee prior to confirmation and we believe him to be unfit to serve as director", wrote National ICE Council President Chris Crane in a February letter to Senate committee leadership.

In a Twitter post on Friday morning, Trump repeated a threat to close the border if Mexico "stops apprehending and bringing the illegals back to where they came from".

Although a border closing has been hurriedly pushed back, the tariffs idea is causing confusion. "The USMCA is a great deal for everybody but this is more important to me than the USMCA so they are going to have to live with it".

As for the country being "full", the United States, with a population density of 35 people per square kilometer, ranks 175th of 240 countries, between Venezuela and Kyrgyzstan. That vote longer matters now that Trump has revoked his nomination altogether. "Give me your exhausted, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free". "We have construction industries in California and in other places that desperately need workers, and immigration has always been not just a question of immigration policy, but who we are as a country". But other, higher-level officials said the move did not appear to be a mistake, even though they were not informed ahead of time.
