USC Student Kidnapped, Killed After Mistaking Car For Uber

The coroner of Clarendon County, South Carolina has issued a brief statement announcing the cause of death in the tragic case of 21-year-old University of South Carolina student Samantha Lee Josephson. Investigators say Samantha Josephson died from "multiple sharp force injuries".

Students at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro say they're more aware of ride-sharing safety after a student at the University of SC was killed. "She simply mistakenly got into this vehicle thinking it was an Uber". Investigators said the 21-year-old had ordered an Uber and they believe she thought Rowland's auto was her ride. When a black vehicle pulls up to a parking spot, she takes several steps toward the auto, opens the back right door, and gets inside, the video shows. Nathanial Rowland, 24, is charged with kidnapping and murder.

She said she doesn't use ride-sharing apps often, but when she does she takes precautions to stay safe.

Samantha Josephson was killed Friday morning.

Holbrook said he spoke with Josephson's family prior to the press conference. He said the department's priority is to care for Josephson's family, calling his meeting with them "gut-wrenching".

"They will know your name and who you are".

European Union losing patience as British MPs vote again on Brexit options
Reports said she was readying herself for a fourth time to put her deal to MPs after they rejected it last Friday. But the Conservatives are anxious that could hand power to the opposition Labour party.

Bay Area drivers for Uber and Lyft say a vehicle mix-up is easy to make. Samantha was by herself - she had absolutely no chance.

Josephson's boyfriend, Greg Corbishley, said he saw a future with her and remembered their last conversation on Thursday.

Authorities identified Rowland as the driver, and he is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Mr Holbrook added: "Our hearts are broken". Police initiated a search, and some 14 hours later, her body was discovered in a field by turkey hunters off a dirt road.

Josephson's blood was found in the trunk and inside Rowland's vehicle along with her cellphone, bleach, window cleaner and cleaning wipes, Holbrook said. Whether it means walking through a bloody police shooting to help a family find justice or showing the multifaceted talent of the Black Diaspora I write the news. "I cannot fathom how someone could randomly select a person, a attractive girl and steal her life away", Marci Josephson told the judge. "Times like these leave me searching for words of wisdom and comfort".

Josephson had numerous wounds to her head, neck, face, upper body, leg and foot, according to arrest warrants released Sunday by the State Law Enforcement Division.

"Mayor Dave Fried, B.A. Joy Tozzi and everyone in Robbinsville Township are devastated by the news that the Josephson family of Robbinsville have lost their precious Samantha".
