Met Gala 2019 Red Carpet: See All the Looks

Commonly referred to as the Met Gala, this year's theme will see celebrities and fashion heavyweights working with the theme of the museum's new exhibition, Camp: Notes on Fashion. One of said high-profile individuals who regularly shows up and takes our breath away is Rihanna. She first met her beau, Nick Jonas in 2017 at this very event, making it even more special for her. But rumors circulating on Twitter reveal that Rihanna may not be attending this year's ball.

"Met Gala here we come".

Since 1995, the event's been hosted by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who enlists the help of A-list friends as her co-chairs. But that wasn't her only look of the night.

Cardi B made her first appearance at the Met Gala a year ago and it was a triumph, the rapper - who was pregnant at the time - dressed in a custom embellished golden gown by Moschino's Jeremy Scott and a matching headdress.

Celebrities and designers from across the globe are expected to attend the fashion feat, which takes place at New York City's iconic Metropolitan Museum.

At age 19, she made her first Met appearance, wearing an ethereal white Georges Chakra halter gown embellished with crystals. She matched the accessory with a miniature black purse from Delvaux, and black stiletto boots. As for her lipstick, she wore a shade of nude peach, and she outlined her lids with blue shadow. The theme is the basis for the Costume Institute's spring exhibition. The look was completed with her then-signature cropped hairstyle.

Everybody knows the first Monday in May is when NY gets taken over by hundreds of celebrities in what is referred to as "the Oscars of the East Coast" or the Costume Institute Gala.

This year, the exhibit and gala are dedicated to the idea of 'camp, ' as defined by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay Notes on 'Camp'. They will give you exclusive red carpet interviews and coverage of the famous arrivals.

The award for the most head-turning look that year definitely went to Riri. She smiled and waved without her usual sunglasses on her face and told waiting reporters this year's theme is anything goes.

"Comme des Garçons" was all about fearless style and Badgalri did justice to the theme.
