National Basketball Association insider reveals breakthrough in search for new head coach

However, one of the most-sought-after head coaches is Monty Williams.

At this point, Williams finding a head coaching position elsewhere is inevitable as he's garnered interest from not only the Suns but from the Los Angeles Lakers as well.

Neither Tyronn Lue nor Monty Williams have been given any assurances by the Lakers.

Lue has been out of work since being fired as the Cleveland Cavaliers head coach at the start of the season.

The Suns will interview Williams in Toronto on Friday. ESPN has reported that the Phoenix Suns want a shot at hiring the 76ers' assistant after firing Igor Kokoskov, who spent just one year as the team's head coach. By multiple reports, those names are the most likely candidates for the coaching job. In the wake of a report which stated that Nance had accused Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka of lying to him about his status at the time, Nance took to social media to set the record straight.

Man Rescued After Falling 60 Feet Down Caldera
The unidentified man slipped and fell from a 300-foot cliff at the caldera. He said the ledge where the man was found was about two-feet wide.

Lue also reportedly secured a second meeting with the Lakers.

He has an extensive relationship with LeBron James, having coached him to the 2016 National Basketball Association title. But Nance not only said that there are (and were) no hard feelings between him and Pelinka (as he said, it's a business), he denied that Pelinka had ever made any promise to him about staying in Los Angeles.

Ty Lue is believed to be up there because of ties to LeBron James.

If Durant were to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers next offseason, it would leave them with a minimum of two years to play together.

As Charania touched on in the video above, Lue has "history in L.A".
