‘He’s a negative force!’: Trump rejected meeting with Labour Party’s Jeremy Corbyn

On Monday 3 June, as his state visit to the United Kingdom commenced, Donald Trump remarked on the "tremendous crowds of well-wishers" poised to greet him along the streets of London.

The Labour leader spoke to crowds from a stage in Whitehall as thousands of protesters took to London's streets on Tuesday, gathering in Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square.

Mr Corbyn also delivered a speech at the anti-Trump march in London on Tuesday after he snubbed an invite to the state banquet hosted by the Queen on Monday evening.

Protests erupted around the country on Monday and demonstrators plan to show up at Portsmouth on Wednesday as Trump participates in ceremonies commemorating the anniversary of D-Day.

A man wore a shirt bearing an image of the "Trump Baby" balloon. Earlier, Khan had called Trump a "poster boy for the far-right".

The President said he refused to meet the Labour leader, describing him as a "somewhat negative force", adding: "I didn't see the protesters until just a little while ago and it was a very, very small group of people put in for political reasons so it was fake news". "I think he would be excellent", Trump said of Johnson taking over for May when she steps down on June 7.

"I don't agree with all his policies".

There were a number of clashes between pro and anti-Trump groups throughout the day.

He added: "He's true to his word when he said he wants to make America great again".

'Some of them started calling us fascists, and we was telling 'em you're the fascists protesting against a democratically elected president of the free world, ' he told MailOnline.

But when Nick asked whether it was her business who the President of the United States should be, Ms Thornberry said "no".

'They was good to debate with and I was having a laugh with the majority of them then we started to get the hardcore lot coming in and start surrounding us'.
