Manchester United confirm £17million signing of Daniel James from Swansea

The Premier League side also announced that they will release more details of the signing once the worldwide transfer window opens next week.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has targeted a host of homegrown players he wants to weave into his squad as he plots a rebuild at Old Trafford following a disappointing sixth-place finish in the Premier League.

Swansea also announced on their official website that all parties had reached agreement, adding: "The transfer is expected to be completed when FIFA's worldwide transfer window opens from June 11".

Manchester United are looking to bring in young players to the club and it seems James will be the first of, the club would hope, many.

Manchester United fans will likely welcome the new-look policy of going for talent and potential rather than brand value and will hope Daniel James be able to emulate the last Welsh winger to drive through on the wings at Old Trafford.

Donald Trump hails Queen as a 'great, great woman' at state banquet
Judi said the President of the United States produced a "toe-curlingly awkward" visit when he met with the Queen previous year . They took a photo of the projection and tweeted it at Trump, saying it was "SAD!" that he was "wildly unpopular" in Britain.

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a spot in the Champions League next term.

James subsequently becomes the record 20-time English champions first major acquisition before the 2019/20 season - a rare signing for them from a Championship club.

In January, James was on the verge of joining Leeds United in a £1.5m loan deal with a view to move permanently for £8.5m this summer before Swansea pulled the plug.

It has been a whirlwind 12 months for James, who joined Swansea from Hull City in 2014, when he was an academy player.

Twice-capped James, who nearly joined Leeds United in January, is in Ryan Giggs' squad for Wales' upcoming Euro 2020 qualifying matches.
