Project Scarlett Xbox console announced - release date, specs, launch titles, and more

Ahead of its E3 2019 press conference Microsoft is revealing details around its upcoming expansions of Xbox Game Pass by opening subscription pages. Microsoft says that there is a "huge variety" of games from every genre and new games will be added on an ongoing basis to ensure that something new is always available to play. Based on Zen 2/Navi architecture, this upcoming console will be 4 times more powerful than the current Xbox One X.

When Project Scarlett is fully unveiled and given a real name, hopefully, it'll be time to be incredibly excited about the Xbox brand again.

Microsoft stressed their new console will be built for the goal of having the best gaming experience possible. Microsoft also very deliberately made it clear the system is designed explicitly for gaming, a notable difference from how the Xbox One was originally unveiled.

It will come with a solid state drive built-in, lending itself to lightning-quick load times.

ABC offices raided by Australian police
The ABC has vowed to protect its sources even as the federal police raid was continuing at the broadcaster's offices in Ultimo . Prime Minister Scott Morrison distanced himself from the raids, saying they were a police matter.

With GDDR6 memory, the console will support 120fps, variable refresh rate, real-time ray-tracing, next-gen SSD technology and more.

Microsoft delivered a new trailer for Halo Infinite today which shows a stranded Pelican pilot happen upon a deactivated Master Chief.

Interestingly, Microsoft hasn't yet given the new console a name, but rather is going with the codename Xbox Project Scarlett at the moment - similar to what it did with Xbox Project Scorpio before it became the Xbox One X.

As the release date inches closer, expect to hear more about the new console including a price and other launch titles.
