Season of Opulence Caps off a Successful Year Two of Destiny 2

During the beginning of the Destiny 2 Livestream, both of Bungies head executives revealed some new information regarding the game going forward. According to several sources which have spoken to Kotaku, Destiny 2 will be one of the big games coming to Google's new streaming platform, Stadia, along with Ubisoft's Ghost Recon.

New Light is a brand new entry point for newcomers, that puts the worlds of Destiny 2 - and all of its foundational modes, activities, and rewards - into the hands of every player.

The changes come as a part of Bungie's push to unify "Destiny" players and find new players.

In many ways, it's business as usual for Bungie then.

With New Light, Bungie seems to be taking cues from games like Apex Legends, Dauntless and of course, Fortnite. Players are fickle and there's so much content out there.

They'll also give people a "survival kit" to ease boredom - including a physical map, notepad and pen, pocket phone book and a few CDs.

The developer made the joke right before announcing that now that Bungie is self-publishing Destiny 2, the game will be released on Steam.

On September 17, Bungie will release their 8th season for Destiny 2 with Shadowkeep. Typical for a new Destiny 2 expansion, the DLC will include a new questline and missions to tackle, a new location, additional weapons and gear, plus a fresh Raid to have a crack at.

Bungie will be cutting down on the various versions of the game that are currently out now, instead offering a la carte versions in order to make things less complicated for those interested in different expansions - including no longer having the Annual Pass.

Bungie has released a new ViDoc for Destiny 2. Other than the Stadia Pro subscription, the Founder's Edition also comes with a limited-edition controller, Chromecast Ultra, and a three-month Buddy Pass that you can give to a friend so that they can play games with you. "And with multiple expansions, Raids, and more on the way, we're very sure to be playing this until rumbles of a Destiny 3 starting to surface".

Shadowkeep launches September 17th, with New Light launching alongside it. See you out there, Guardians. The game will support cross-saving across all available platforms including PC (Steam), Google Stadia, Xbox One, and PS4. From here you can roam the solar system, unlocking new content and powering up your guardian as you go, becoming the champion Destiny needs.
