Xbox One Backward Compatibility Support Ends With 23 Final Additions

Last might Microsoft announced Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a subscription services that rolls Game Pass, Game Pass PC, and Xbox Live Gold altogether into a single £11 a month subscription.

"Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 4 will be offered at $9.99USD on both the Microsoft Store and Steam while Halo 3: ODST within MCC (with a current scope of Campaign only), will be available for $4.99USD", says the blog post. So, even if you've had Gold for a while or you're a new customer, there are lots of savings to be made. As a launch game for Project Scarlett, the next Halo is still a ways off, but we don't know anything more about the game now than we did when Microsoft announced it at E3 previous year.

No pricing plans for the new console were revealed at a gala event ahead of the opening of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) video game industry gathering. Microsoft took advantage of E3 to reveal project Scarlet and to share some details about the new console.

Raptors fans ready for Game 4 of NBA Finals
Now there's a chance that loud and proud Oracle Arena has seen its last National Basketball Association game. And while the Raptors still have one more game to win, the fans are already anticipating something special.

At its E3 briefing today, Microsoft announced Project Scarlett, the working name for its next-generation Xbox game console - and it sounds like it's going to be a real powerhouse.

One thing worth mentioning too is that any Xbox Live Gold subscriptions you want to add to your account after joining Game Pass Ultimate will be converted at a lesser ratio. According to the company, this is one of a number of improvements that will make Project Scarlett the "most powerful and highest-performing console" it has ever built. Microsoft noted that this should allow for 8K graphics, frame rates of up to 120fps (double the standard on current-gen consoles), and hardware-accelerated ray tracing for improved lighting effects.

Microsoft thinks it can win back these gamers with Project xCloud: a way to stream Xbox games to your phone. The company launched the final list of content to add to the Xbox One's catalog including a few Original Xbox classics and free DLC, Xbox 360 titles and Xbox One X Enhanced updates. However, if you happen to own an Xbox (or three like me), you'll want to consider the $14.99 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which not only grants access to O.G. Thousands of games across four console generations will look and play best on Project Scarlett. That's a huge bummer (the service is really great), but at least titles like Asura's Wrath and the OG Splinter Cell can now be preserved for years to come. "We're using the SSD as virtual RAM", said one of the Xbox spokespeople in the unveiling video.
